Impressionist Gardens

Featuring works by the most prominent artists of that period, their precursors - including Delacroix and Corox - and later painters like Klimt, Munch and Singer Sargent, the exhibition examines the significance, origins, and influence of the Impressionist garden. Hundreds of species of plants and flowers were imported from Asia, Africa and America making the gardens extremely popular from 1860 onwards, and a source of inspiration for the great masters. On at the Fundación Caja Madrid and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum from Nov 16 to Feb 13.
